Locals also frequent O’neil’s and Pour 64 to explore expansive brews on tap.

Residents who venture into Charlotte experience a variety of dining, from food trucks to fine restaurants, all less than 30 minutes from Mint Hill. Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park opened in 1997 and spans over 50 acres. This park offers amenities for all ages and residents and has beach volleyball courts, soccer fields, softball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, and picnic tables. The Memorial has a mile-long walking trail and bike path featuring wildlife like birds and deer.

Old Sycamore Golf Plantation is a great spot for golf lovers to connect, nestled along a cove of trees. This course has won several awards since opening in 1997, including awards for the best course in the Charlotte region. Golfers can request memberships for the course or sign up for one-off tee times online, making it easy for occasional golfers to still get involved. All ages and skill levels are welcome at this beautiful semi-private course.
Stevens Creek Nature Center and Reserve is another great spot for the whole family to enjoy the outdoors. Stevens Creek offers youth sports leagues for baseball and track and summer camps with various activities to keep children entertained. With live animals, a range of outdoor classes such as biking and aquatics, and volunteer opportunities, everyone can find an activity that suits their interests.

Farmers markets and local shops

Mint Hill and nearby areas also have many shops and markets for locals to visit. From farmers’ markets to fine shopping experiences, residents are sure to find something they enjoy. A local favorite is the Mint Hill Farmers Market, open every Saturday from May through October. The market sells locally-grown produce, crafts, baked goods, gardening supplies, and food from various stalls.

Charlotte also boasts a plethora of farmers’ markets throughout the city, many selling organic foods and even jewelry and flowers. Residents’ preferred markets include the North End, University City, and Uptown markets. Charlotte offers a variety of other shopping and stores throughout the city, not far from Mint Hill. The city has everything from boutiques to thrift stores, including Charlotte Premium Outlets, Southpark Mall, and Sleepy Poet Antique Mall. Vestique, Scout and Molly’s, and Coplons are all notable local boutiques for curated and rare finds.
